Introducing TPT Development Programme
Opening January 2027
A space to explore. A community to collaborate. A place to find your voice.
At The Playground Theatre, we believe that extraordinary work begins with curiosity, collaboration and the freedom to experiment.
We are seeking artists from across all creative disciplines who are passionate about developing new work, exploring unfamiliar territory and discovering their own unique artistic voice.
Whether you're an actor, director, writer, musician, dancer, designer, visual artist, deviser or creative working beyond traditional disciplines, we invite you to become part of a vibrant and supportive artistic community.
Our aim is to create a safe, collaborative environment where artists can challenge themselves, exchange ideas and explore new possibilities without the pressure of immediate performance or commercial expectations.
We believe every artist has a unique voice waiting to be discovered.
Just as Van Gogh and Beethoven began by learning from those who came before them, their greatest achievements emerged when they discovered something unmistakably their own.
We want to help artists find that same freedom of expression.
cONNECT
Become part of a vibrant community of artists from all creative disciplines. Share ideas, exchange experiences and build meaningful connections with like-minded creatives who share your passion for artistic discovery.
cOLLABORATE

HOW THE NETWORK WORKS
Connect. Collaborate. Create.
The Playground Artists' Network will bring together a diverse community of creatives, encouraging the exchange of ideas, skills and artistic practices.
We want to create an environment where disciplines overlap, new partnerships emerge and unexpected collaborations can flourish.
As part of the network, artists will have the opportunity to:
-
Connect with fellow creatives from a wide range of artistic disciplines through a shared network.
-
Develop new work in a supportive and collaborative environment.
-
Explore and experiment with new ideas, techniques and creative approaches.
-
Collaborate across disciplines, discovering fresh perspectives and possibilities.
-
Access theatre space for creative development, subject to venue availability.
-
Become part of a growing artistic community dedicated to innovation, experimentation and artistic expression.
A significant amount of theatre space will be made available to support the programme, with sessions and development opportunities scheduled around the theatre's existing programme.
MEMBERSHIP & PARTICIPATION
To help sustain the programme and support the continued development of new work, an annual membership contribution will apply.
Membership fees and further details will be discussed individually as part of the application process.
We welcome expressions of interest from artists at different stages of their creative journeys and from all artistic backgrounds.
