Olive Pascha and Emily Susanne Lloyd present

Seeing as, We are

24-27 FEB | 7.30pm &
27 FEB | 2.30pm & 28 FEB | 3.00pm

It is the morning of 7th May 2026, and local elections are getting underway across the country. Behind closed doors in a quiet South-East London flat, two domiciliary carers, Nadzeya and Asma'u, go about their daily routines supporting an older man, Alan. Despite their striking personal differences, the bond that forms between them reveals the unexpected humour, profound intimacy, and hidden power found within the act of caring.

Played out in real time, Seeing as, We are shines a necessary light on the high stakes, domestic realities of home-care relationships. Set against the stark fragility of a care system under immense strain, this piece examines the precarity of the industry while confronting what it truly means to be British today.

Written and directed by Olive Pascha, the production is based on interviews conducted with real-life domiciliary carers and adults receiving care across the UK. Stripped back and fiercely authentic, this urgent new play makes its theatrical debut at The Playground Theatre, placing the audience face-to-face with a quiet reality that unfolds in people's homes every single day.
