Voila! Theatre Festival and The Playground Theatre present
Patisserie Femme
19th & 20 NOV | 8:30pm
21 NOV | 5:30pm
Writer: Jessie Diepeveen, Producer: Yeo Dana, Marketing & Graphic Design: Daniel Hintner
Patisserie Femme is a delicious sketch-style satire set in a spin-off of the Great British Bake Off tent. Forget Bread Week and Star Baker, these contestants have a different set of rules! That's right, sweet treats are out and mouth watering women are in!
Bear witness to funny and heart-wrenching confessions by the hosts, contestants and key pantry ingredients too. Whether you're an innocent little “sweetie-pie”, your darling partner's “honey”, or a “tart” on the market, you're a woman who can't escape being eaten up. Patisserie Femme is sure to make you laugh your way through uncomfortable themes — yeast infections and popping the cherry to name but a few. What this show most certainly doesn’t do, is sugar-coat the injustices that women face on the daily.
Written by Jessie Diepeveen, the show first premiered in South Africa. This two-time Fleur du Cap nominee for Best New Director and Best Ensemble (2024) is making its London debut.
