The Playground Theatre Presents
WVAC: Honeytrap
9 March - 7:30pm
Writer & Director: Ruby Isaacs

When Honey, now in her twenties, learns that the boy who attacked her at school is standing for Mayor of London, a buried chapter of her life resurfaces with unsettling force. Nearly a decade has passed since the incident, but the political rise of her former abuser brings the past sharply into the present, exposing how personal trauma collides with public power. What begins as a private reckoning becomes a calculated response, as Honey decides not to remain silent while her history is rewritten without her consent.
Set against the machinery of modern politics and media spectacle, Honeytrap examines memory, control and the uneasy relationship between justice and revenge. The play traces Honey’s careful construction of a plan that is as intimate as it is strategic, asking who gets to shape the narrative of harm and redemption.
Taut, darkly playful and morally charged, Honeytrap explores how unresolved violence echoes across time and how reclaiming agency can carry consequences as complex as the wounds that demanded it.
