Drama Studio London Presents

The Tenant of Wildfell Hall

10 - 12 JULY

Written by Anne Brontë

Adapted by Deborah McAndrew

Directed by Ishwar Maharaj

Performed by Gradutating Students of BA & MFA

Set in the 19th century on the windswept moors of Yorkshire, a young farmer falls in love with a mysterious woman. She is the new tenant of Wildfell Hall, a painter with a secret, scandalous past. Their relationship will be fraught with obstacles and misunderstandings.

Based on the 1848 groundbreaking novel by Anne Brontë, the plot deals with explosive and unspoken social issues of its day. The Tenant of Wildfell Hall is a passionate story of a woman’s fight for independence. This new stage adaptation has been sensitively brought to life by award-winning playwright Deborah McAndrew. The National Press stated that Deborah McAndrew’s adaptation takes this 19th-century classic and “packs an emotional punch for a modern audience.”
