MULTIPLE FIVE STAR HIT AT THE 2019 EDINBURGH FRINGE!
They have depended on death for a living, but for undertakers, Welshman Eurig, and Derry-man, Connor even that has let them down. Business is dying, every new burial is a lifeline… As they endlessly await the client of Mr Charles Sterling's unusually heavy coffin, they ruminate on love, death and the meaning of their grave lives.
SHAVING THE DEAD was unfairly overshadowed at the 2019 Edinburgh Fringe by Olivier Award winner, Guy Masterson’s "other hit” - the eventual West End and Broadway smash hit THE SHARK IS BROKEN - but now, 7 years on, this dry-as-a bone, bible-black comedy from Perrier Award nominated comedian, author and poet, Owen O’Neill, rises from the ashes with Masterson and O’Neill themselves manning the hearse.
"This is Waiting for Godot meets The Dumb Waiter meets Six Feet Under! To die for!!” (Edinburgh Evening News) ★★★★★
"One of the most humane and satisfying theatre shows on the Fringe, as well as what must be one of the funniest, with a powerful belly-laugh in almost every other line." (The Scotsman) ★★★★
"Laugh-out-loud comedy-drama at its very best!" (One4Review) ★★★★★
"Outstanding comedy writing. A masterclass in comic timing." (Edinburgh ’Guide) ★★★★★
"I urge you to get a ticket for this terrific show!" (The Scottish Play) ★★★★★
OWEN O’NEILL WILL ALSO PRESENT HIS NEW SOLO COMEDY- I COULD WRITE A BOOK ABOUT IT on Thursday- Saturday, 9 -10pm.
