Step into the world of Merrily We Roll Along, Stephen Sondheim’s bold and brilliant musical that turns storytelling on its head. Told in reverse, this emotionally rich show starts at the end of a friendship and rewinds through the pivotal moments that shaped the lives of three ambitious artists.
Follow Franklin Shepard, a once-successful composer turned Hollywood producer, as the story journeys backward through decades of compromise, success, heartbreak, and hope—revealing how he and his two closest friends, Charley and Mary, let their dreams slip away.
Set against the backdrop of the shifting American cultural landscape from the 1970s to the late '50s, Merrily We Roll Along is both a cautionary tale and a nostalgic celebration of youth, idealism, and the fragile bonds of friendship. Featuring one of Sondheim’s most beloved scores—including "Not a Day Goes By," "Old Friends," and "Our Time"—this musical is as moving as it is masterful.
