Lenin’s Embalmers

Lenin’s Embalmers is based on a remarkable true story.

In the 1920’s, Joseph Stalin, the Soviet leader, orders two Russian scientists to preserve the body of the revered Vladimir Lenin. Not for days, or months, or even years, but forever. If they succeed the rewards will be beyond their wildest dreams. If not, it's the gulag – or worse.

Both scientists are pushed to their limits. Driven by fear and fame, they attempt to achieve the impossible.

Award-winning playwright Vern Thiessen presents us with a dark comedy that brings to light the resilience of the human spirit, ever-changing war games and the imperative to always have vodka on hand for every occasion.
