Due to a planned strike on November 7th, the conference will now take place on November 21st.


Join us for a dynamic one-day conference exploring the vital role of theatre in shaping society. Through three engaging panels, we’ll discuss the intersection of local and global social issues, the challenges of censorship and political correctness, and the importance of diversity and inclusion in the theatre industry.


Panels:

  1. Local Community Engagement vs. Global Social Engagement Explore how theatre impacts local communities while addressing broader societal and cross-cultural issues.

  2. Theatre's Social & Political Language: Oppression and Censorship Examine how theatre can challenge oppressive narratives and navigate censorship, political correctness, and cancel culture.

  3. Diversity, Equity and Inclusion: Identity, Fairness, Belonging, and Authentic Representation Discuss strategies for promoting equity and inclusivity in theatre, highlighting authentic representation of minorities and individuals with disabilities.
